Sony DXC-390 compact three 1/3-inch Exwave HAD CCD color video camera

When high resolution and maximum camera sensitivity is a must, the DXC-390 1/3″ type DSP 3-CCD color video camera delivers the goods. Ideal for point of view, machine vision and industrial microscopy applications, the Sony DXC-390 incorporates Exwave HAD™ technology – the Sony technology that greatly improves camera sensitivity (F8 at 2000 lx) while reducing smear compared to previous CCD technologies. Using a C mount lens and providing resolution of 800 TVL and a high S/N ration of 62 dB, this camera is also well-suited for portrait proofing, amusement rides, sports shooting, board rooms, and scientific image capture applications.

Designed for versatility, the DXC-390 is perfect for both seasoned videographers and beginners alike. Its user-friendly interface and robust build make it easy to handle in any shooting environment. Plus, with options for sales and repairs, you can trust that your investment is protected and supported by experts who understand the ins and outs of this exceptional camera.

High picture quality

Incorporating three 1/3 type IT CCDs, the camera produces a high resolution of 800 TV lines and a high S/N ratio of 62 dB (NTSC), 61 dB (PAL). Featuring Sony’s new Exwave HAD it provides excellent sensitivity and low smear levels.

Sony DXC-390 Digital Signal Processing (DSP)

New Sony 10-bit DSP technology increases picture reliability. This Sony DXC-390 model has several DSP functions for powerful picture controls.

Picture contrast controls

Including DynaLatitude which automatically adjusts contrast corresponding to the brightness signal level of the entire image; DCC+ (Dynamic Contrast Control Plus) for automatic avoidance of hue distortion; and Black stretch which enhances the gradation of dark areas by compressing the range of the brightness signal in these areas.

Picture enhancement controls

Includes Digital Detail for adjusting sharpness; Linear Matrix for enhanced color reproduction and Partial Enhance, which softens a specific color by altering its hue, saturation and detail.

AE (Automatic Exposure)

Automatically controls the level of brightness by varying the exposure times. This Sony DXC-390 model is equipped with a number of convenient modes for adjusting the standard brightness level, the conversion speed to suit applications under varying lighting conditions; and light metering.

Sony DXC-390 Electronic shutter functions

An array of functionality built into the CCD includes: variable speeds making it possible to capture blur-free, clear images of high speed moving objects up to 1/100,000; Long term exposure for a variety of manually selected speeds; Clear Scan which eliminates the horizontal bands that appear across the screen when shooting a computer display; CCD IRIS which automatically reduces the exposure in a range equivalent to 10 f-stops when the level of incoming light exceeds the auto iris adjustment range.

Compact and lightweight

56(W) x 50(H) x 128(D) mm (2 1/4 x 2 x 5 1/8 inches), 370 g (13 oz).

C mount

For extensive choice of lens.

Scene files and user files

Scene Files: The preset files are set to accommodate four different situations (Standard/Microscope/Full Auto/Strobe). User Files: Allows user to set two custom parameters in the menu for instant recall.

Hyper Gain (+30 dB)

Useful to capture images in dark conditions.
