Description
Sony UPA-WU10 Wireless USB Solution for medical printing
The Sony UPA-WU10 wireless print system allows cable-free connection of compatible Sony medical printers with surgical endoscopes, ultrasound systems and other hospital imaging modalities.
Sony UPA-WU10 wirelessly connect printers to medical imaging systems
The system effectively replaces a conventional wired USB connection between printer and imaging modality. It’s ideal for busy clinical environments, where modalities are constantly being moved between different OR and treatment rooms. The all-in-one wireless print solution also resolves the problem of limited space on medical carts, allowing connection between the modality and an ‘off-cart’ printer without needing a lengthy USB cable.
The complete system comprises two components: the compact USB transmitter module (for the imaging modality) and a USB receiver module (for the printer).
There’s no need for any local Wi-Fi (WLAN) network, lengthy set-up or installation of extra software: UPAWU10 transmitter and receiver are paired automatically via stable UWB (Ultra Wide Band) connection over distances of up to 10m.
Three user-selectable radio channels allow simultaneous transmission between multiple transmitter/receiver pairs in the same room, serving multiple printers.
Auto Quick Link for easy 1:1 wireless pairing
Transmitter searches for any receiver, and automatically pairs with closest transmitter emitting the strongest signal.
No wires, no extra software
System replaces USB cable connection to modality with wireless link: no additional software is needed, other than the printer driver installed on the modality.
Automatic reconnection
Wireless connection between devices is automatically re-established if connection is temporarily lost.
Serve multiple printers
Three radio channels allow simultaneous transmission between multiple transmitter/receiver pairs: permits use of up to three printers in the same room (requires separate UPA-WU10 per printer).
Adequate transfer distance
Wirelessly transfers data from modality to printer. Maximum transmission range is approx. 10m, using Ultra Wide Band.
